What They Asked For...
This couple is in their 30's and had an incredibly busy year with multiple weddings (including their own) and moving two times before August. Much to their delight, they also found out they were expecting their first child.
They wanted a slow holiday to relax and reconnect with each other before the little nugget arrives and wanted a more romantic, foodie and cultural trip.
Flying in-and-out of Auckland
Relaxing and remote locations
Lots of nature
Small walks but nothing too strenuous
Really wanted time with each other
Wanted to do the Northern Explorer
A budget of $5000
Interested in the culture
Preferred to keep it to the North Island
What They Got...
This is their Google My Map Route Plan based on their desires.
I factored in their desire to catch the Northern Explorer by having them leave from Auckland and catch the train down to National Park. This would mean they could stay at Tongariro for a few nights to see some nature, do some of the short walks and have a more remote and romantic experience at the Tongariro Chateau.
From here we moved back up towards Auckland in a loop via Taupo, Rotorua and Coromandel taking a few days out at all giving them a lot of time to relax and take in the sights and magnificence which this whole region encompasses. This also gave them a variety of natural experiences, from mountains and lakes to beaches and forests.
You can see below on the table, a more detailed overview of their itinerary.
"Which way provided an awesome itinerary at an affordable price. Leo was a pleasure to work with and made sure everything we needed for our unique trip was included. I would highly recommend Which Way to friends and family."
